Disney converting 200 Grand Floridian Resort hotel rooms to DVC villas
One building of existing hotel rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be converted into Disney Vacation Club Villas starting this spring, Disney announced.
The Big Pine Key (Building 9) at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be transformed into 200 Resort Studios, each accommodating up to five people. These new Villas will offer luxury accommodations and amenities, with some villas boasting stunning views of Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom.
Projected to open in summer 2022, these new villas will be a part of its current condominium association.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the Disney Vacation Club’s 12th resort, opened in October 2013.
The villas keep the Victorian theme of the Grand Floridian complete with a Mary Poppins-themed bronze fountain with playful penguins waits to greet guests as they step into the lobby. In the lobby’s atrium are two five-tier custom grand chandeliers with antiqued-brass finish and decorative green crystals.
