Big Thunder Mountain reopens at Disneyland on March 17
After more than a year of being closed The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is scheduled to reopen March 17.

The refurbishment includes a new track and enhanced audio system.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad originally opened on September 1979 and has carried more than 225 million guests.
The miniature town of Big Thunder can be found at the end of the attraction. It first appeared in 1956 as part of the Rainbow Cavern Mine Train and Mine Train through Nature’s Wonderland attractions.
The ride also includes a century-old stamp mill, hand-driven drill, press gears, picks shovels and other artifacts acquired from abandoned mines in Nevada, Colorado, Minnesota and Wyoming, as well as museums and swap meets.
