Spader will play Ultron in the “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The film, from writer/director by Joss Whedon is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015.
Spader earned three Emmy Awards for his role as Alan Shore on “Boston Legal” and “The Practice,” and will return to television this fall in NBC’s highly anticipated series “The Blacklist.”
Ultron is probably the greatest and most horrific creation Dr. Henry Pym ever created in his New Jersey Lab. “Ultron is a criminally insane rogue sentient robot dedicated to conquest and the extermination of humanity,” according to the Marvel Universe Wiki.
Whedon recently told Entertainment Weekly that he is going to try to find a way to humanize “the angry bot.” “He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy.”
