11 big things happening at Disney World this November

We are now entering our most favorite time of year at Disney World – the holiday season.

The yuletide feeling blankets the resort with shows and special attractions and some special magic. This month will feature some new shows, new fireworks, a new restaurant and some special announcements.

Here’s a look at what’s coming this November.

Nov. 2: The Frozen Holiday Wish castle-lighting ceremony debuts for the season. The 10-minute show features Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff, and ends with over 200,000 LEDs lighting up the castle.

Nov. 4: A new projection show debuts on the Cinderella Castle the Magic Kingdom. The “Once Upon a Time” show features classic Disney fairy tales and is narrated by Mrs. Potts from “Beauty and the Beast” who share “once upon a time” bedtime stories with Chip. The castle opens up like a story book with projected scenes from classics such as Peter Pan flying above the rooftops of London to Never Land, a whimsical tea party hosted by the Mad Hatter and Winnie the Pooh rising to the top of the Castle while he hangs from a colorful balloon.

Nov. 5: The sneak peek of “Moana” opens at Hollywood Studios. The preview will be part of the One Man’s Dream attraction at Hollywood Studios.

Nov. 7: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off. This special ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom offers special shows not seen at other times, a parade and a night time filled with a a lot less guests than normal.

Nov. 11: A new Christmas Tree Trail opens at Disney Springs in Disney World. The walk-through experience, runs through Jan. 8, 2017 and will include gentle snow falling, singes and toy soldiers. There are 15 themed trees on the trail, including: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Disney Villains, “Moana“, “Beauty and the Beast“, “The Little Mermaid“, “Cinderella“, “The Princess and the Frog“, “Alice in Wonderland“, “Frozen“, “The Jungle Book“, “Mulan“, “101 Dalmatians“, “Tangled“, “Mary Poppins“ and The Muppets.

Nov. 14: The new Christmas event, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” spectacular begins at Hollywood Studios. The show is similar to the current Star Wars: Galactic Spectacular combining projections, special effects and fireworks set to a seasonal musical score.

Nov. 16: PizzeRizzo opens at Hollywood Studios. The restaurant, a owned by Rizzo the Rat (after all what else would a New York rat own other than a pizza place?), is opening in the former Toy Story Pizza Planet in Muppets Courtyard.

Nov. 18: It’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday and special “Happy Birthday, Mickey!” buttons will be handed out at Disney World. Characters and performers will dance in a special birthday-themed edition of the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party.

Nov. 19-20: Expect some major announcements from Disney during the D23 Destination D: Amazing Adventures event being held at Disney World. We may even hear about when the Rivers of Light is finally coming to Animal Kingdom (could it be by the end of the year?)
Nov. 25: The Holidays Around the World Marketplaces debuts at Epcot with fie new marketplaces. Similar to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, there will be kiosks at five locations in Germany Pavilion, American Adventure Pavilion, the area between Morocco and France, and two areas near the World Showcase Plaze.
Nov. 25: The Candlelight Processional returns to Epcot. The processional is the retelling of the Christmas story by celebrity narrators, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and choir. The Candlelight Processional is is performed three times each night.
