Star Wars land will open at Disneyland and Disney World in 2019

The Star Wars lands now under construction at Disneyland and Disney World will open in 2019, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced during the Walt Disney Company Q1 FY17 Earnings call.

Star Wars land is supposed to be an immersive experience and take guests into a new Star Wars planet. There will be two major rides, one that puts guests behind the controls of the Millennium Falcon and another that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

There will also be shops and dining in the new area.

During the same meeting Iger also announced the opening date for Pandora – The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom at Disney World.
