Beach Club’s holiday carousel retells ‘Mickey’s Christmas Carol’

A beloved holiday tradition continues at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where a life-sized, spinning holiday carousel made of gingerbread transforms the resort’s lobby into a winter wonderland. This year, the talented pastry chefs at Yacht and Beach Bakery have conjured up a truly magical creation, inspired by the timeless tale of “Mickey’s Christmas Carol.”

The carousel horses are meticulously decorated with intricate details, bringing the characters from the film to life. From Scrooge McDuck’s grumpy expression to the Ghost of Christmas Future’s ethereal form, each figure is a work of art, crafted with chocolate, sugar, and fondant.

The first carousel horse introduces us to Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Scrooge McDuck. The detail of the money and on the saddle is fabulous.

Jiminy Cricket is the ghost of Christmas past and takes Scrooge on a journey into this past. Here the saddle shows Scrooge, looking into the past when Isabelle, who he met years before, asks when they will marry. Scrooge declines, by foreclosing the mortgage on her cottage.

The last horse represents the Ghost of Christmas Future. The saddle shows Scrooge in the cemetery and on top of the saddle is the tombstone.

The carousel is adorned with handcrafted gingerbread shingles and snowflakes, adding to the festive ambiance.
