Baby addax born at Disney’s Animal Lodge area

Let’s celebrate with another baby announcement at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Meet Julien, the newest addition to the addax herd, born just two months ago.

Julien, standing a charming two feet tall, is not just any calf. He’s the first male born at the resort, a testament to the dedication of his parents, Juniper and Allen. He is now spending time with his mother Juniper and the rest of the herd on Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge’s savanna.

With fewer than 100 of these majestic creatures left in the wild and around 180 in managed care across all AZA-accredited organizations, every birth is a cause for celebration and hope.

The lodge’s animals are separate from those at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There are four savannas at the lodge where over 200 hoofed animals and birds call home.
