Big change for Disney World Annual Passholders coming in April

Starting on April 18, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will be able to visit theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation – with an exception.

The one exception is Magic Kingdom on Saturday and Sundays, there will still be a need to have a park reservation or a parkhopper ticket, Disney announced.

“Pass blockout dates will continue to apply like they do today. While the theme park reservation system remains important to manage attendance in our parks, especially on busier days, we realize our Passholders enjoy more spontaneous visits – and this change will make that possible,” Disney said.

Disney early announced that these changes were coming directly in response to the frustration by annual passholders who felt they had already paid for access to the parks with blockout dates and were getting further blocked out because they needed to get a park reservation.
