‘Hey Disney!’ voice assistant starting to be installed at Disney World
Walt Disney World has announced that it is starting to rollout the new “Hey Disney!” voice assistant at limited rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village resort.
The new device will expand in phases to additional Disney Resort hotel rooms across the resort in time.
Using Alexa technology for supported Amazon Echo devices, the “Hey Disney” assistant will let youl be able to ask all the useful questions – weather forecasts, set timers and alarms, etc. – and get answers from more than 25 popular characters including Mickey Mouse, Olaf, Rocket and Groot, Princess Tiana and many more.
Plus, when you stay at select Disney Resort hotels, you can use the device to learn helpful information about your vacation, order room amenities and more. Wondering when the next bus to EPCOT leaves or need to request more towels for your room? Just ask the Disney Magical Companion, a new character who will interact with you via “Hey Disney!”
This is an optional service. “Hey Disney” will be muted when you enter and you can keep the device muted during your entire stay. Once unmuted, the digital voice assistant will listen for the wake words “Hey Disney” or “Alexa.”
The assistant will also be available to purchase and have at home. Below is a look at the new assistant.
