Walt Disney World’s Park Pass system updates, what it means to you

Walt Disney World has updated its Park Pass system today, August 23, 2022, to make it easier to modify and make reservations for larger parties as well as other changes.

When going to Disney World, not only does one need a valid ticket to enter, but needs a park reservation to enter one of the parks.

The number of theme park reservation days you can hold at one time varies based on your plans:

  • Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests can make park reservations for dates during their stay for the number of days that they have valid theme park admission.
  • Annual Passholders staying at Disney Resort hotels or other select hotels can make theme park reservations for each day of their Resort stay(s). In addition, they can make park reservations up to the maximum number their pass can hold at a time on a rolling basis.
  • Existing ticket holders can make park reservations for the number of days of valid theme park admission.

Guests can only make Disney Park Pass reservations via the Disney World website. If you are using the My Disney Experience app, it automatically takes you to the website, where you might have to log in from your mobile device.

Here’s a look at some of the changes

  • Guests can now book Park Pass reservations for up to 30 guests. The limit was previously 12. This could be helpful for those family reunions.
  • Those who have an existing Disney Park Pass reservation can now modify the date and Park without canceling and making a new reservation.
  •  Park Pass reservations are now associated with a ticket, not a guest. This means a guest can have a Park Pass reservation for different tickets they may hold, such as a single-day ticket and an annual pass.
  • All guests, regardless of ticket type, now use the same Park Pass reservation system. Previously, multiple systems were being used, producing an inconsistent experience.
  • Guests can choose any email address to send the Park Pass confirmation details to, and it is not limited to the email address associated with the My Disney Experience account
