Video: Disney shares first full-speed launch test for TRON Lightcycle/Run

Walt Disney Imagineering is sharing a video showing the full-speed launch test for the new Tron Lightcyle/Run coming to the Magic Kingdom.

Construction of the building’s exterior is complete and now the team is testing the the roller coaster ride vehicles.

The new coaster being built in Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain is based on Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run.  Guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles that will take them inside and outside the attraction’s building, reaching speeds of nearly 60 miles. The ride lasts about two minutes. No opening date for Magic Kingdom has been announced.

In addition to testing the coaster, construction workers are still prepping the entrance area to the ride, including changing the side Space Mountain where the merchandise shop is located.
