New artist renderings show the final look of the front of EPCOT transformation

EPCOT’s transformation continues as we await the opening of the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opening later this month in EPCOT at Disney World. Now, we are getting a fresh look at what the area behind all of those construction walls behind Spaceship Earth will look like.

These six renderings below are an updated look at the EPCOT transformation, which needed to be changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s what we can expect.

Let’s remember, the entire “neighborhood” designations of the theme park have changed. It is no longer Future World, for the front of the park and World Showcase in the rear. Future World has been divided into three areas: World of Discovery (encompassing the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride, Mission: Space and Test Track), World of Celebration (encompassing Spaceship Earth, the new Creations Cafe and Creation Shop, and the entire area under construction behind Spaceship Earth) and World of Nature (encompassing the new Moana interactive area, Seas with Nemo and Friends, The Land and Imagination pavilions).

So, let’s take a look at what’s to come:

Above is the overview of the World Celebration area. To the top is Spaceship Earth. To the right is the new Creations Cafe and Creations shop. The top left is the new Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana walkthrough area (which is technically in the World Nature area). At the bottom left is CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, a new Festival Area stage. The center is a new gardens area .

The new gardens area in the center of the World Celebration is supposed to change with the seasons.

When the sun goes down the gardens of World Celebration will take on a whole new life at night, where lighting immerses guests in an evening experience that will evolve through the seasons.

In the center of EPCOT will be an area called CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. It is a multi-use facility and outdoor event space, respectively. It will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens, as well as large-scale concerts.

In this rendering to the bottom right is the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana and the upper-right is the artist concept of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza.

Here is a closer look at Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. It is being designed to be an exploration trail inviting EPCOT guests to meet and play with magical living water.
