Disney shares new video of loading area inside Guardians of Galaxy ride

Disney is providing a first video look of the loading area inside the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

When this coaster opens in the summer, possibly around Memorial Day Weekend, guests will enter the loading area “to step aboard a Nova Corps ship and load into their Starjumper vehicles to take off with the Guardians of the Galaxy on a race through time and space!” Zach Ridley, Creative Portfolio Executive at Disney Imagineering, wrote on Instagram.

Senior Ride Development Engineer, Liz Diaz, in the video below, shares a look at the load station and how he ridge vehicle works.

The new attraction is described as a family-friendly “storytelling coaster” that will feature a ride system with vehicles that rotate 360 degrees. The OmniCoaster ride system, similar in concept to the Haunted Mansion, where it moves around to point guests to the specific locations, will direct the rider’s eyes to the story.

As you enter Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction you will enter the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. You’ll be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue.
