Photos: Baby Mylo plays on the savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Fourth-month-old white rhino Mylo has joined the rest of the “crash” (what a rhino herd is called) on the savanna at Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Mylo was able to join his 1-year-old half-brother Ranger for the first time on the savanna. “Mylo and Ranger are two of three white rhino calves born at the theme park since October 2020. Each birth was part of the Species Survival Plan, which is overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to ensure the responsible breeding of endangered species in managed care,”  Scott Terrell, DVM, DACVP, Director of Animal & Science Operations, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, wrote on the Disney Parks Blog.

Now that Mylo and Ranger are out on the savanna there is one more rhino baby that needs too make its debut. And, that baby now has a name. The third white rhino baby born has been named Logan, according to Terrell. The female calf was born in November to first-time mom Lola and Dugan, the bull of the crash. The name is a combination of Dugan and Lola’s name. Logan will continue bonding with mom backstage before joining the herd on the savanna at Kilimanjaro Safaris in the coming months, Terell wrote.
