Disney store celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars
Before you queue up your copy of Star Wars to celebrate its 40th anniversary on Thursday, you might want to stop by the Disney Store to mark the occasion.
Disney Stores around the country are marking 40 years of Star Wars on Thursday, May 25, with a series of special events and the launch of new limited-edition merchandise.
The day begins with an opening ceremony, followed by activities for young and old fans. Kids ages 3 and up can join BB-8 and Chewbacca as they train with the Resistance with defense training against stormtroopers and Millennium Falcon flight training. Or you can learn to draw R2-D2 and BB-8. There’s also a trivia event, with winners taking home a set of trading cards of a 40th anniversary button (while supplies last). Use the Disney Store locator to find a participating store.
If you want to get a jump on the celebrating, there’s other cool new merchandise available now. Check out the Dooney & Bourke Dark Side bags available now on the Shop Disney Parks app, or pre-order a pair of sustainably sourced Star Wars sneakers or boots.
