New song ‘You Are the Magic’ debuts at Disney World on Oct. 1

A new original song “You Are the Magic” will debut on Oct 1. as part of the new nighttime spectacular “Disney Enchantment” coming to Magic Kingdom.

This is all part of Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” which wil last 18 months.

“You Are the Magic” was written by Philip Lawrence, who started out performing at Disney World in shows like “Festival of the Lion King” and “Tarzan Rocks!” Though, the seven-time Grammy Award winner is probably better known as a songwriter and music producer for his collaborations with Bruno Mars on songs like “Uptown Funk” and “24K Magic.”

He has returned to Disney World to create this new song for the nighttime spectacular that features fireworks and immersive projections that will extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A. He not only wrote the piece, but he also performs it as well with the song in “Disney Enchantment” along with actor and singer Kayla Alvarez, another former Walt Disney World cast member.
