Photos: Close look at Tron construction at Magic Kingdom

Safety netting has been installed as construction work continues on the TRON Lightcycle Run at the Magic Kingdom.

The view aboard the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover now allows us to see the entire track and finished canopy.

In the photo below, you can see where the ride vehicles will initially be launched at the lower left of the photo. The coaster will then go around the exterior track before heading into the ride building at the top right of the photo. Inside the building the remainder is the remainder of the track.

The new coaster being built next to Space Mountain is based on Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run.  Guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles that will take them inside and outside the attraction’s building, reaching speeds of nearly 60 miles. The ride lasts about two minutes.

While no official announcement from Disney has been made on when this will open, we expect to see it debut sometime in 2022.
