See how big Tron ride is at Magic Kingdom compared to other attractions

When visiting Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World it’s hard to get a good perspective on how big the new TRON Lightcycle/Run attraction is because it is behind other attractions.

Near Space Mountain and The Barnstormer you can get a sense of how huge the canopy is, but it isn’t until you look down from above that you can appreciate the enormity of the attraction.

The new coaster being built next to Space Mountain is based on Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run.  Guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles that will take them inside and outside the attraction’s building, reaching speeds of nearly 60 miles. The ride lasts about two minutes.

Here you can see how big the TRON ride will be. It is expected to reach speeds of 60 mph, and the track length is 3,169 feet. There are no inversions.

No definitive date has been given regarding the opening of the attraction but there is some hope that it would open sometime in 2022.
