More info on Disney’s MagicMobile release as cast members start testing

Cast members today have started testing the new Disney’s MagicMobile system at the Walt Disney World theme parks. This will allow guests to use smartphones and smartwatches to not only enter the theme parks and other uses instead of using MagicBands.

The app will also connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account. You wi be able to enter by just trapping your phone near the touch points, there will be no need to unlock your phone. On your Apple Wallet, you’ll be able to help others enter by swiping to their passes to redeem.

You can still use your MagicBand and alternate between the two at anytime.

How long the Cast Member testing will take place, or the timeline of implementing this is unknown. Disney has not yet made any additional announcements.
