Disney will place your daughter’s face on a princess doll

We just put up an item looking at how Disney is trying to make animatronics look more real, but they can already capture your face and put it on a figurine.

Starting Aug. 26, at the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney in Disney World, young girls, ages 3-12, will be able to get their faces placed on a princess figurine.

A Disney publicity photo

The process comes from the D-Tech Me experience Disney unveiled earlier this year when they “placed” people into frozen carbonite as part of Star Wars Weekends.

The new technology takes about 10 minutes, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

Cameras capture a guests face from various angles and reconstructs a computer model which then prints the face on one of seven different Disney Princesses, including Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White and Tiana. Hair, skin and eye color of the figurine are customized to match the guest.

The completed figurine is then shipped home within six weeks. The price $99.95 (plus $15.95 shipping. Canadian and International shipping begins at $75.00).
