10 big changes coming to Walt Disney World first week of October
A number of changes to attractions and at dining locations are taking place this week and Walt Disney World, including the reopening of an attraction, some attractions going under refurbishment, the reopening of some dining locations, and changes in hours of others.
The changes are taking place mostly at Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Here are the specifics:
Epcot
Chef’s de France reopens on Oct. 8.: A new abbreviated menu debuts with four appetizers, four entrees and a trio of desserts. Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 3:55 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 6:50 p.m.
Magic Kingdom
Three dining changes and two attractions are closing for refurbishment, including:
Liberty Square Riverboat will be closing for refurbishment on Oct. 5. It appears the work to be done may include draining the water from the Rivers of America.
Tom Sawyer Island will be closing for refurbishment on Oct. 5. While working is being done on Rivers of America, the island will be closed. It is unknown what type of refurbishments might be taking place on the island.
The Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland with its creamy bacon macaroni & cheese tots is now reopen.
The Adventureland Spring Roll Cart, a favorite among many many with its Cheeseburger and Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls, is now open.
The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland, featuring hot dogs and pretzels is scheduled to reopen Oct. 9.
Hollywood Studios
Three dining changes are taking place and one attraction is reopening.
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration reopens Oct. 5. The show will be the same as it has been the past six years with Erik and Aria, the Royal Historians of Arendelle, providing a comedic retelling of the unique story of their kingdom, filled with sing-along moments from Disney’s “Frozen” and special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff. There will be some adjustments to the staging and audience seating to allow for appropriate physical distancing, Disney announced.
Backlot Express increase its operating hour. It now closes at 5 p.m., instead of 4 p.m.
Pizza Rizzo reduces its hours to 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from 11:30am to 6:30 p.m.
Ronto Roasters is reducing its hour to 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.. However, you will still be able to get your favorite Ronto Wraps at Docking nay 7 after the Ronto Roasters closes.
