Ahoy, a mermaid ahead.

Have you noticed the changes that have taken place on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Walt Disney World?

Captain Blackbeard (played by Ian McShane) has replaced the apparition of Davy Jones on the waterfall mist at the beginning of the ride. McShane recorded the new loop on Feb. 11.

“He came in wearing his complete Blackbeard costume, including the sword, saying it helped him stay in character,” Michael Sprout, a Walt Disney Imagineer who directed the special shoot, told the Disney Parks Blog.

But the other addition is a bit more subtle. When on the ride take a look at the beach scene, after the waterfall mist. Here you still find skeletons of pirates stranded on the island, and one more skeleton. This one handcuffed inside a wrecked rowboat. Look for the skeletons legs, you won’t find any. Instead you’ll see the remains of a tail. That’s right, a mermaid.

I hope Ariel doesn’t get insulted.
