Olaf origin story coming to Disney+ in ‘Once Upon a Snowman’
What happens after you build a snowman? A new “Frozen” animated short coming to Disney+ this October, “Once Upon a Snowman,” will give us a look at the early moments of Olaf’s existence.
We all know that in “Frozen” Elsa somehow brought to life her and her sister, Anna’s favorite snowman. But what happens next?
“Once Upon a Snowman,” premiering on Disney+ on Oct. 23, will see what happened to Olaf moments after his creation. Josh Gad returns providing the voice of the snowman who loves summer and warm hugs.
“This is an idea that started to form when I was an animator on the first ‘Frozen,'” Trent Correy, who co-directed the short with Dan Abraham, said in a release.
“Dan Abraham and I are so grateful and excited to have had the opportunity to direct this short, working with our incredible colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios,” Correy said.
Correy, was the animation supervisor on Olaf in “Frozen 2.” Abraham, is a story artist who worked on Olaf’s “When I Am Older” musical sequence in “Frozen 2.”
“Josh Gad gives one of the great animated performances as Olaf through the “Frozen” films. To have the opportunity to work with him in the recording booth was such a privilege and career highlight,” Abraham said in a release.
