What Cinderella Castle will look like this Christmas at the Magic Kingdom

For the first time since November 2007, the Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World will not have its signature shimmering Christmas lights draped across the castle during the holiday season due to changes implemented due to the coronavirus.

This year, from Nov. 6 through Dec. 30, 2020, when night falls projection effects will transform Cinderella Castle with a kaleidoscope of designs, including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation.

The projections are part of a massive change in offerings taking place during this holiday season due to the coronavirus.

The projections won’t be up long. At this point the Magic Kingdom is scheduled to close at 6 p.m. Sunset on Nov. 4 takes place at 5:37 p.m.

The projections come from the “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” show that was introduced during last year’s holiday season. Here’s what’s to come.
