6 big things happening at Disney World this September
The reopening of Walt Disney World is entering another major phase this September as theme park hours change, one resort, and a few other restaurants reopen and Halloween arrives.
Here’s what’s coming:
Sept. 4: Gaston’s Tavern at Magic Kingdom reopens. This manliest of manly places located in Fantasyland has been closed since the Magic Kingdom reopened in July. The tavern serves up such snacks plus LeFou’s Brew—the restaurant’s signature non-alcoholic drink.
Sept. 8: Theme park hours are reduced at all four parks.
- Magic Kingdom hours will be reduced to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m..
- Hollywood Studios hours will be reduced to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Animal Kingdom hours will be reduced to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Epcot hours will be reduced to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sept. 15: Magic Kingdom gets a Halloween makeover. For the first time, guests of all ages will be allowed to wear their Halloween costumes during Magic Kingdom’s normal operating hours Sept. 15 through Oct. 31 during the theme park’s fall celebration.
The park will be decorated with all its autumnal flair from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31 with pumpkins, wreaths and of course hay bales.
There will be special Halloween-themed cavalcades with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and pals wearing their favorite Halloween costumes. Chip ‘n’ Dale will be in costume over in Frontierland and look for other Disney characters dressing up and riding the horse-drawn trolley down Main Street, U.S.A.
Sept. 21: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa reopens. As of now, the Grand Floridian Cafe, Gasparilla Island Grill, Enchanted Rose and Beaches Pool Bar & Grill will be open as well as Curiouser Clothiers, M. Mouse Mercantile, and Sandy Cove Gifts and Sundries store will be open. Other announcements might be coming on store and restaurant reopening.
Sept. 24, Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom reopens. This regal banquet with unforgettable main courses ranging from roasted chicken breast and tenderloin of beef to chef’s fish of the day returns. However, the princesses will not be greeting guests. Reservations can start being made Sept. 11.
Sept. 25: Minnie’s Halloween Dine opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For the Halloween season, Hollywood & Vine seasonal dining returns with Minnie’s Halloween Dine with a monster feast served to your table. In addition, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and their friends will stop by for you to wave and snap some photos.
