6 fun things to know about the Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island in Disneyland
For many people the Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island in Disneyland may not be a go to attraction, but the located is a nice little get away.
When on the island you get a treasure map the leads you around the island to the various pieces of treasure hidden by pirates. There’s also a little obstacle course with barrel and suspension bridges.

The island opened on Jun 16, 1956 giving guests a chance walk inside Mark Twain’s novel and see what the characters were like. The Pirates Lair was incorporated into the island in 2006 .
1. Tom Sawyer Island is the only attraction designed by Walt Disney himself.
