‘American Idol’ to kick off auditions for the new show at Disney World
“American Idol” will kick off its open auditions at Disney World in August.
The show, which ran on FOX from 2002 to 2016 is returning to the Disney-owned ABC Network in 2018. One has to wonder if there will be a park component again. The American Idol Experience where people from the audience could earn a ticket to audition for the show called Hollywood Studios its home from 2009 to 2014.
The “new Idol” bus tour will begin its journey across America at Disney Springs on Aug. 17, 2017, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
American Idol producers will be reviewing those trying out (sorry, none of the celebrity judges will be around).
Parking will be available as early as 4 a.m. for those who want to try out at the surface parking lot on the West Side of Disney Springs, near House of Blues and Cirque du Soleil. (There will be no overnight camping allowed on the premises.) Registration will begin at 6 a.m. and auditions will start at 8 a.m. Registration will close at noon, or sooner depending on capacity.
The auditions will take place outdoors (don’t forget your sunscreen and water).
