Video of cast members applauding last family leaving Disney World

A video has surfaced on ViralHog of a family leaving Disney’s Rivera Resort at Disney World on the day the resorts closed due to the coronavirus.

The video, taken by the Porter family, shows cast members applauding the family and giving the young child a Donald Duck plushie as they board Disney’s Magical Express.

“My family and I planned a trip to Disney World. We were back and forth about going due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We finally decided to press on and go on the vacation. Once we arrived, we were told that all parks and hotels would soon be closing,” the family told ViralHog.

The theme parks closed on March 16 and the resorts closed days later on March 20.

“On our last day at Disney World, our resort manager at the Riviera Hotel told us that we were the last family in the resort and area to leave Disney World. As we were walking to our shuttle, the entire staff lined up outside of the hotel to wave goodbye to my family and thank us for being a part of history. It was an amazing experience,” the family said.

While the title of the video does say Disneyland, the seal on the ground is that of the Riviera Resort in Disney World.
