Chiefs Patrick Mahomes will celebrate Super Bowl win at Disney World Monday
Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LIV Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes will be heading down Main Street, U.S.A., at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World Monday, a day after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20.
Mahomes said those five magic words after winning the Super Bowl – “I’m going to Disney World!”
His pronouncement followed a phenomenal comeback. Down 20-10 in the final quarter, Mahomes found tight end Travis Kelce for a score and then running back Damien Williams for the game-winner.
The comeback victory gave coach Andy Reid his first Super Bowl win and the first win for the franchise in 50 years.
The Disney World phrase is something Mahomes has wanted to say for a long time. In a tweet from 2013 he wrote: I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says “I’m going to Disney World” after winning the Super Bowl #Qbs
Mahomes will arrive Monday at Walt Disney World, including an afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom Park . The Disney Parks Blog will be live streaming the parade at 2:40 p.m. ET
For the first time, a Make-A-Wish child – 10-year-old Nathaniel from Texas – will ride in the celebratory parade, too, plus experience some popular Disney attractions. In addition, 17 other Make-A-Wish children, whose wishes were to attend the Super Bowl, will also be by visiting Magic Kingdom Park on Monday.
During the MVP presentation Sunday night, Disney Parks announced it will be donating $1 million to Make-A-Wish in honor of Mahomes’ MVP performance.
