Disney in advanced talks for a theme-parks rail station, report states

Talks for a rail station on or near Walt Disney World property as part of an Orlando to Tampa passenger-rail route are in advanced talks, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.

Disney and Brightline, soon to be renamed Virgin Trains USA, both have confirmed to the newspaper that they are in advanced talks about a station.

Virgin’s executive vice president for infrastructure said the discussions with Disney are in a “rather advanced state now.”

Disney said in its statement: “While we have not yet made any definitive commitment, we have mutually agreed to more formally explore developing a train station on our property.”

Virgin is now in the middle of a $4 billion expansion between Orlando International Airport and South Florida.
