Map shows change in Walt Disney World Marathon course for 2020

The 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon map that was released this week shows a different course than in past years.

The marathon takes place Jan. 12, 2020 and is this last race of the marathon weekend, which takes place Jan. 8-12 and includes a 5K, 10K, a Half-Marathon and a Marathon.

The route appears similar during the first half of the race. The race begins and ends at Epcot. The first 5K of the race goes around and inside Epcot before heading north to the Magic Kingdom and then toward Animal Kingdom.

Once exiting Animal Kingdom, the route changes. Instead of running around ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, runners will instead head to Blizzard Beach and then skirt through the front of Hollywood Studios before ending at Epcot.
