Disney provides behind-the-scenes look at new Animal Kingdom holiday decorations
Earlier this year Disney World announced that the Animal Kingdom will be having holiday decorations placed throughout the park. Now, they are giving a little more specifics as to what will be coming.
Discovery Island will be in the midst of a celebration of winter, hand-crafted by the community artists who reside there. The village will be filled with sparkling white holiday decorations. Animal-inspired luminaries line the rooftops. During the day, Discovery Island will spring to life with a holiday gathering of winter animals with artisan-sculpted puppets, including reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more.
At night, the Tree of Life will awaken with a series of wintry tales, complemented by a holiday-inspired musical score.
In Asia, the Anandapur theatre district will be decked out in celebration of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India. Glowing flowers, lanterns and more will illuminate the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage.

The holiday celebration will even take place in Pandora – The World of Avatar, where the ex-pats living and working on the moon will bring a little Christmastime fun with a display of kitschy holiday décor at Pongu Pongu that combines vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.
