New ‘Maleficent’ trailer adds more nuance to ‘Sleeping Beauty’ villain

Is Disney trying to turn its “greatest villain” into something more like a hero?

It seems that way in the second trailer for “Maleficent,” which stars Angelina Jolie as the Mistress of All Evil who cursed Princess Aurora to die on her 16th birthday.

The new trailer weaves clips of the original animated Sleeping Beauty with scenes from the upcoming movie, which also stars Elle Fanning as the not-yet-sleeping beauty. We also get a look at the fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather at baby Aurora’s christening.
