‘Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Live’ returns with special eats

Star-Lord, Gamora and all of their Xandarian friends return to Epcot tomorrow to present an out-of-this-world rock musical in Guardians of the Galaxy—Awesome Mix Live!

The show, which debuted last year (here’s our review), can be experienced five times a day from June 14 to August 18, 2019, at the America Gardens Theatre across from The American Adventure.

The premise is that a group of aliens from Xandar, the birthplace of the Nova Corps, are sent to Epcot as part of a new outreach initiative because Epcot is viewed as a cultural epicenter.

Luckily Star-Lord is here and with a reluctant Gamora, the Xandarian band plays music form Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Volumes 1 & 2.

To celebrate the return of the show, Disney has come up with a number of themed Guardians of the Galaxy food and beverages.

At the  Fife & Drum, you will find:

• The Mix Tart is a strawberry-filled shortbread cookie
• The Awesome Mix Slushy is a frozen blue raspberry, strawberry, and lemonade slushy and it’s served with a fun glow cube.
• I Am Root float, featuring Barq’s Root Beer with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and mint leaves.
• The Destroyer Punch with orange, pineapple, and lime juices and grenadine.

At Liberty Inn you will find:

• The Space Sandwich hich features barbecue pulled pork topped with crispy onions and served on a Kaiser bun with french fries.
• The Awesome Mix Plate includes french fries topped with barbecue pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, bacon, and lettuce
• The Cosmic Cake is filled with vanilla buttercream and space sprinkles.
• The Rocket Fuel is a frozen Coca-Cola slushy with grenadine.
