A look at ‘Tale of the Lion King,’ coming June 7 to California Adventure
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the “The Lion King” this summer, Disney California Adventure will celebrate with a new theatrical adaptation starting June 7, 2019.
The “Tale of the Lion King,” which features 18 performers – including actors, singers, dancers
“The approach that we’ve taken is that this is a story that was passed on from generation to generation and now has come here to Disney California Adventure Park,” Susan Tubert, Creative Director Disney Parks Live Entertainment.
This is a group of storytellers “that we’ve called storytellers of the pride lands and they’ve come to share this ancestral story of how this little cub became a king,” she said.
New musical arrangements were written from the original songs in “The Lion King” and given a flavor of the authenticity of the spirit of Africa, Tubert said.
