Mizner’s Lounge to become Beauty and the Beast-inspired lounge this fall

We now know the fate of Mizner’s Lounge at the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, it will be turned into a “Beauty and the Beast”-inspired lounge.

We previously announced the lounge was expanding into the Commander Porter’s store, but the area will also be rethemed.

This space, according to Disney, will feature four distinct areas inspired by Belle and the Beast.

  • The signature bar will glow from the light of a gold chandelier that takes its inspiration from Belle’s flowing ball gown, with subtle nods to the Beast’s magical rose.
  • The formal library will showcase classical baroque designs and French furnishings inspired by Belle, with hints of the Beast’s friends.
  • The garden room will draw its inspiration from the enchanted forest surrounding Beast’s castle.
  • An outdoor patio will evoke the romance of Beast’s garden terrace.

There was no announcement on what drinks and or snacks would be served in the area. Nor, was there any announcement of a permanent change for the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra, which performed jazz standards and Disney classics. For now, the orchestra is being relocated to the main lobby area.

For now bar service has moved to the first-floor lobby area next to Garden View Tea Room.
