Disney Facts: Mad Tea Party ride

This is one of the most iconic rides at at any Disney park, one that can make you smile or cause you to to feel a bit nauseous – The Mad Tea Party ride.

Lasting about 90 seconds, the spinning ride is called different things at different parks. While called The Mad Tea Party ride at Disneyland, it is the Mad Tea Party at Disney World, Alice’s Tea Party at Tokyo Disneyland, Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups at Disneyland Paris and Mad Hatter Tea Cups at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Mad Tea Party was an opened at Disneyland on July 17, 1955. The volume of a Mad Tea Party teacup is approximately 37,500 cubic inches. It would take an estimated 3,000 cups of tea to fill just one of these oversized teacups.
