Lupita Nyong’o and are joining the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, Lucasfilm has announced.
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in a press release.
Nyong’o won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Patsey in “12 Years a Slave.” Christie currently plays Brienne of Tarth in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
The two join Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny BakerJohn Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow in the film.
The movie opens worldwide on Dec. 18, 2015.
