First look inside Disney’s Riviera Resort art and décor

Disney is offering a look at the European-themed art and décor that will be throughout the Disney’s Riviera Resort that will open in Fall 2019 at the Walt Disney World Resport.

The villas will have Disney concept art with European settings, posters of Disney films as released in Europe, archival photography of Walt Disney’s travels throughout the region, and references to the ephemera and book titles Walt Disney gathered on his journeys. 

Many Disney characters are included in the new art, including: Mickey and Minnie, and characters from “Beauty and the Beast,” Disney’s “Peter Pan,” “The Aristocats,” Disney-Pixar film “Ratatouille,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Moana,” “Tangled,” and “101 Dalmatians.”

Disney has gotten clever with the names of the some of the paintings. “Interior with Cats,” highlights “The Aristocats” with Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse. “Still Life with Teapot” features Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Chip and Cogsworth.
