Disney Tony awards total 16 – the complete list

The win last week by James Monroe Iglehart at the 2014 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical, brings to 16 the number of awards Disney Theatrical shows have won.

Iglehart plays the Genie in Aladdin the Musical, which opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014, an adaptation of the 1992 Disney film – which is adapted from the story of Aladdin in One Thousand and One Nights.

This was Iglehart’s first Tony nomination.
