Major milestone in Tron construction celebrated at Disney World

Walt Disney World cast members celebrated a major milestone at the Magic Kingdom for the construction of the new Tron attraction.

Cast members were able to sign their names on the first steel support columns that will be used for the new attraction.

The ride is being built in Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain. Based on the Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run, the coaster has riders board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles.

Due to the construction, the Walt Disney World Railroad and the Tomorrowland Speedway are closed so tracks can be moved.

The TRON rise is set to open at the Magic Kingdom in 2021, in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
