Sohni, a Sumatran tiger, recently gave birth to the pair of cubs. According to the Disney Parks Blog, mother and cubs are “bonding well, and our dedicated team of animal care experts and veterinarians are focused on providing around-the-clock care for the tigers as they continue to monitor their progress.”
Sohni and the cubs will be able to be seen in the next several months on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, the blog said.
The tiger cubs were bred by a team of animal care experts through the Species Survival Plan, which is overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. There are fewer than 500 Sumatran tigers in the wild. The species is facing habitat loss, poaching and illegal wildlife trade.
In Indonesia, anyone caught hunting tigers could face jail time and steep fines, according to the World Wildlife Fund,
