Disney strikes a deal to sell Pandora jewelry at the parks

Pandora jewelry — those ubiquitous charm bracelets you see adorned with soccer balls and birthday cupcakes — is coming to Disney Parks in time for Christmas this year.

Disney announced a wide-ranging deal yesterday that will bring a new jewelry collection to Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Vacation Club properties and the Disney Cruise Line. The collection will include 25 new charms in silver and gold, plus 16 styles that will  found only at Disney Parks. Part of the collection also will be available at the Disney Store online.

Disney also promised “unique retail installations” at two existing merchandise locations at Disneyland and Disney World — a vague description that sounds like it could mean a “store within a store” at both Downtown Disneys.

I recall seeing Disney charms from Pandora years ago, before Disney started selling the similar Chamilia charm collection. You can still find “authentic” Disney Pandora sets on eBay; one of those is pictured here.

The new deal also includes Pandora sponsoring the Wishes fireworks at the Magic Kingdom beginning next year. So get ready for a fireworks display that will also serve as a subtle little reminder to pick up your souvenir charms on your way out of the park.
