Disney Skyliner gondola for Disney World is unveiled
The new gondola for the Disney Skyliner transportation system at Walt Disney World was unveiled today at D23’s Destination D 2018 event.
The new Disney Skyliner, which will be operational in the fall of 2019, connects Epcot and Hollywood Studios with four Disney resorts – Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach and the new Riviera Resort.
The Skyliner system will not only act as another mode of transportation but also an attraction. The system will provide never-before-seen views across the World Showcase while entering Epcot. The system will also provide a variety of views around Disney World.
“You’ll definitely want your cameras out when you ride this,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, said as he unveiled the new gondola.
The installation of the more than six miles of cable that will be used on the new Disney Skyliner system has already started. Many of the Disney Skyliner stations are nearing completion and the support towers now dot the landscape of Disney.
