First job posted for Disney Skyliner system at Disney World

Disney has posted the first job for the new Disney Skyliner transportation system coming to the Walt Disney World Resort.

The new gondola system will connect will take guests from Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach and the new Riviera resorts to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The stations are under construction and the towers are now dotted all over Disney World.

Disney is looking for a Sr Transportation Engineer who will be in charge of the system.

According to the Disney Careers site, the person will be “responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Disney Skyliner aerial lift system, keeping all guests and personnel safe and meeting all regulatory requirements.”

The system will have anywhere from 40 to 50 mechanics maintaining the system.

No date has been announced yet for the opening of the system, but it is believed it might open in summer 2019 or early 2020.
