5 major parade, entertainment changes coming to Disney World this Fall
The end of September and the beginning of December will see some major changes around Walt Disney World.
Some longtime performances will end, others will change and one attraction is expected to go seasonal. The reason behind it all appears to be a decrease in attendance to Disney World.
Disney has not made any official announcements about the following changes coming, but all are from what we view reliable websites and sources.
1. Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial will have its final performance Sept. 29, 2018. This takes place across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction where new pirate recruits led by Captain Jack, according to wdwmagic.com.
2. The Star Lord and Groot meet and greet at Hollywood Studios will end Sept. 29, 2018. Located at Walt Disney Presents, it is unknown what will replace this meet and greet, according to wdwmagic.com.
3. Members of the Citizens of Hollywood are being cut. Leaving by Sept. 20 will be Dorma Nesmond, Paige Turner, Dara Vamp, and Officer Prime Brody characters. It is unknown if these will be replaced with new characters nor not, according to wdwnt.com.
4. The current version of the Move It! Shake It! Dance and Play It! Street Party at the Magic Kingdom is likely to have its final show on Dec. 1, 2018. It is unknown is a new version will replace this show, according to wdwmagic.com.
5. Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom will be going to seasonal opening starting at the end of September. This means the Wildlife Express train will be closed, as will conservation station, the petting zoo and character meet and greets, according to sources on WDWMagic forums.
