Parents of boy who died in alligator attack at Disney welcome newborn son

The parents of Lane Graves, the 2-year-old boy killed at Disney World in an alligator attack in 2016, have welcomed another child.

Matt and Melissa Graves announced  “the birth of our son, Christian Lane Graves. Although we know the pain of losing Lane will never go away, we feel God has blessed our family with this precious miracle of life,” the couple wrote in a press release.

The couple are also parents of a daughter, named Ella. “We know Ella and Christian have their brother, Lane, watching over them as their guardian angel,” they wrote.

Their son Lane was killed on June 14, 2016, by an alligator on the beaches of the Grand Floridian resort. As a boy was in the sand near the water an alligator pulled the boy under the water into the Seven Seas Lagoon as his father tried to save him.

Since the attack Disney built wider boulder walls along the Seven Seas Lagoon and erected warning signs of alligators and snakes near all water on Disney property

The parents thanked well-wishers for their “love and support,” while asking for privacy.
