Disneyland makes major change to annual pass program
Disneyland is changing its annual pass program and for the first time will limit some passholders by which park they can attend on a given day.
change, which goes into effect June 2019, is taking place in preparation for the huge crowds expected for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park in the summer of 2019.
While it is not unusual for annual passes to have blockout dates, this change will have a specific impact on which park you can enter. So you might be blocked out of both parks, or only one park.
In a prepared statement, Disneyland explains: “As our business evolves, this is the first step in reshaping our Annual Pass program, which will better manage the guest experience and allow all Disneyland Resort visitors to have a great visit, particularly as we look forward to the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in summer 2019.”
Instead of looking at one calendar to tell you if the day is blocked out, passholders will need to look at two calendars to see what parks they can attend.
According to the Disneyland annual passports website, the Disney Deluxe Passport and Disney Signature passes will have blockout dates. The Disney Signature Plus Passport will have no blockout dates.
