Disney unveils new information on Marvel expansion into parks
Disney is sharing some new information on the upcoming the expansion of the Marvel universe into Disney Parks.
There are three new Marvel areas coming to Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.
“With the incredible popularity of Iron Man Experience at Hong Kong Disneyland and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disneyland Resort, we know our guests love experiencing epic action and adventure alongside the Avengers and their heroic friends,” Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products said.
Here’s a look at what’s happening at each park.
Disneyland Resort
Joining the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at California Adventure will be an expanded land that will have Spider-Man and the Avengers. Disney said this will be a completely immersive Super Hero universe and open in 2020. To do this, Disney has closed It’s Tough to Be Bug. The last day for the attraction was March 19, 2018.
Disneyland Paris
The new Marvel-themed area will be located at Walt Disney Studios Park and include a reimagined attraction where riders will team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure in 2020. Disney’s Hotel New York will be reimagined that same year and transform into Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. This will be the first Disney hotel to showcase the Avengers, Spider-Man and other heroes.
Hong Kong Disneyland
There is a multi-year expansion taking place at this reort tht will include a new Marvel-themed area with an Ant-Man and The Wasp attraction where guests team up with duo to fight Arnim Zola and his army of Hydra swarm bots. This new attraction will join the Iron Man Experience, which opened in 2017. The expansion at will bring a new attraction or entertainment offering almost every year through 2023.
