Disney World hikes ticket prices today 2/11/2018
Disney World today increased ticket prices across the board and plans later this year to sell date-specific one-day and multi-day tickets with prices posted in advance.
The increases vary from park to park and the time of year one visits the resort. Disney has a three-tiered categories of tickets – value, regular and peak, depending on when you come. (Full list of ticket prices are below.)
Disney introduced the tiered system in February 2016 in an effort to spread attendance throughout the year.
The other difference on the one-day tickets is that the cost to the Magic Kingdom park is higher than the other three by $5 to $7 depending on the time of year.
The Magic Kingdom one-day price value price is now $109, a $2 increase, the regular price is $119, a $4 increase and peak ticket is now $129, a $5 increase.
Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom one-day prices increase by $3 to $102 for value ticket, $7 to $114 for a regular ticket and $3 to $122 for peak season.
The price increases come after Walt Disney World posted record-breaking attendance in the quarter that ended in December. The parks division of the company also outshined all other divisions.
To further help spread park attendance throughout the year, Disney is also planning to sell date-specific one-day and multi-day tickets with prices posted in advance later this year.
“Given the small percentage of guests that purchase a one-day ticket at Walt Disney World, extending pre-published, date-specific pricing to multi-day tickets will further advance our efforts to spread attendance throughout the year and ensure all guests have a magical experience no matter when they visit,” Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said in a statement.
“We know how important making memories at Disney theme parks is to families and we will continue to evolve our pricing in a way that gives families a range of options to meet their budget and helps better spread attendance throughout the year so they can make the most of every visit,” she said.
